Jessie Baker, born in 1991, is the band leader, banjo player ,and lead singer for the band. Jessie taught himself the major chords after receiving a ten dollar pawn shop guitar from his grandma as an early Christmas present in late 2001. After his musical talent was made evident, Jessie’s parents wanted to get him lessons, and therefore urged him to be sure of choosing the instrument he wished to play. Mr. Leslie Napier, a neighbor and dear friend of the family, showed Jessie some licks on guitar, mandolin, and banjo. |

| Jessie fell in love with the banjo and began lessons in May 2002. After about three months, Jessie and Taylor changed teachers and began lessons with Bobby Jewell of Acton, Indiana. God used Bobby to change the boys lives. He is not only a fabulous teacher and player, but more importantly, Bobby is a great spiritual influence and a wonderful friend. Bobby has had a huge hand in the development of who Jessie and Taylor are today, and who they will become tomorrow. Jessie has learned well, and continues to develop. We hope you will keep in touch and watch him as he climbs to the top. |

Taylor Baker, born in 1993, plays mandolin, sings harmony, and does some lead singing for the band. Taylor also began lessons in late May 2002. After playing only six weeks, Taylor and Jessie played on stage at the first festival they ever attended, The Lotus Dickey Hometown Reunion in Paoli, Indiana. Taylor has never feared being on stage, but he takes it very seriously, and rarely smiles on stage. Somehow, his straight face has earned him the nick-name “Smiley”. He’s smiley almost all the time off stage, though. |
| Taylor began playing fiddle in November 2004. He takes lessons from Jeff Guernsey. Taylor is making great strides on his fiddle, but the mandolin is still his favorite instrument. Taylor plays a Grady mandolin. Taylor’s mandolin sounds fabulous and is one of the world’s most beautiful mandolins. It is made of curly redwood and curly koa. You can take a close-up look at Taylor’s mandolin at Grady Mandolins.com. Taylor would love for you to come by and say “hi” when you can. |

Anna Baker, mother of Jessie and Taylor, sings harmony and plays bass with the band. Anna loves it that the boys asked her to join in. She’s having a great time, and feels especially blessed to have two such hardworking, dedicated, focused young men. |
